Kelly Boyd brings an extensive educational and professional background in corporate communications to KB Consultants. Ms. Boyd is a 1988 graduate of American University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Communications and received the school’s prestigious Outstanding Graduate in Public Affairs award. In 1990, she graduated from the Fels Center of Government at the University of Pennsylvania with a Masters in Government Administration. Ms. Boyd also received a Juris Doctorate from Temple University School of Law in 1996.
Upon finishing her undergraduate education, Ms. Boyd gained experience in the Great Britain House of Commons and in the U.S. Senate, where she worked as Press Assistant and later Assistant Press Secretary for the late Senator John Heinz in Washington, D.C. In 1990, Ms. Boyd moved permanently to Philadelphia to work on Senator Heinz' re-election campaign. She then moved on as Deputy to the Campaign Manager for Barbara Hafer's Gubernational race. Later, Ms. Boyd left politics to become the General Manager of the Greater Philadelphia Hotel Association, and in 1994 began attending law school.
In 1995, during her second year of law school, Ms. Boyd founded KB Consultants, Inc., a firm specializing in marketing, public relations and media training, community relations, and executive training. The company represents the best brands in the marketplace. KB Consultants' current client list includes companies in finance, banking, commercial & residential real estate, hospitality, executive placement, healthcare, publishing, retail, decorative arts, and nonprofit sectors. The firm also consults regional corporate executives on the strategic planning of community and public relations.
Ms. Boyd is highly involved in the community as well. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School, the City of Philadelphia Airport Advisory Board, the Marian Anderson Award Board and the Executive Committee of the Alumni Association for Temple University's James E. Beasley School of Law. Ms. Boyd also serves on numerous civic and cultural fundraising committees, lending her firm's expertise pro bono to many causes.
She currently resides in center city Philadelphia with her three daughters.
